Zaida (Zy-duh) and Casey are some of my most favorite people ever. I am so grateful I’ve gotten to know them. I’m thinking it’s about time I explain something… I bet you all (“you” as in, the vastness of the internet) are wondering how I get to photograph my dear friends pretty much every session. Well, here’s the thing. When I photograph people — couples in particular — I get to know them on a level that is difficult to explain. I see how they interact with eachother. My eyes are peeled for little sweet things that happen in between moments of just simply living. Photographing people opens up such a deep channel for me to get to know people. So they become my friends. (Whether they like it or not, haha!) I really feel like this was SO true of Zaida and Casey. I first got to know them at their engagement session at Coronado Island. Since then, I have been beyond excited for their wedding. So I’ll stop rambling and get to the good stuff!
Zaida said this of her new husband Casey.. “I feel so very blessed to be double-engaged (more of that story here) to marry a man who loves me so very much and always wants to, and tries to, and does give me the world. what else can I do but be the happiest girl on the planet?”
Casey looks at Zaida with eyes filled with tender love. You just know that she means the absolute world to him (and vice versa!). She’s witty, optimistic, funny, beautiful and a loving person… My goodness these two could not be any more of a perfect couple!
Their wedding day was so much fun, and I couldn’t really tell the story without a zillion of my favorite photos. So enjoy! Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Dougal!
Zaida had a few loved ones by her side every minute of the day– her grandma, mom, and dear friends helped make sure the day was perfect for her!Makeup and hair were done by the talented Megan Rinehart– who literally does the hair for Disney princesses at Disneyland.Headed over to the Newport Beach Temple for the wedding… so exciting! After the temple, we headed over to Corona Del Mar to take a few portraits at the beach. Although it was extrememly busy, included a slightly treacherous walk (Zaida was leading the way!) and was pretty hot, Zaida and Casey couldn’t have been any more smashing![this one's for you Casey...]Sometimes I lie and say that I’m only photographing feet. But then I get photos like this that make me happy inside. The evening continued at the Hillcrest Terrace in Fullerton…The scrumptious cake was made by Casey’s talented sister Whitney!!Announcing… Mr. and Mrs. Dougal!!This little guy wanted in on the dancing action. Too cute! The wedding favors were magnets of “love” in practically every language there is… Cutest idea ever!
